| | I hope you're having a great start to the semester! I'm writing to let you know about a new resource designed specifically for you, a student organization advisor: the Student Organization Advisor Handbook (2026-2027), now available on Canvas.
This handbook is your year-round reference for student organization policies and procedures at UW-Superior. It covers nine topic areas:
- Getting Started (responsibilities, recognition, and your role as an advisor)
- Campus Resouorces
- Money & Budgets
- Event Planning
- Food Policy
- Travel
- Marketing & Promotions
- Digital Accessibility
- Conduct & Community
Whether you're a brand-new advisor or have been advising for years, it's a great place to find quick answers and stay up to date.
You can access the handbook by self-enrolling in the course here: Student Organization Advisor Handbook 2026-2027.
As a reminder, the annual recognition deadline is Wednesday, October 15 at 4:30 p.m. All five of the following steps must be completed for your oranization to be approved:
- Registration or Re-Registration Form on 'Jackets Connect
- Membership roster with at least one faculty or staff advisor and four UWS students
- Advisor Agreement on 'Jackets Connect
- Current Constitution signed and dated by officers, then uploaded to 'Jackets Connect
- Leadership Training completed by officers on Canvas
Step 3 requires your direct action as an advisor. To complete it, log in to 'Jackets Connect with your UWS credentials, click "Forms" on the left menu, and select "Advisor Agreement." This must be completed for your organization to be approved.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at involvement@uwsuper.edu. Thank you for everything you do for our student organizations!
Best,
Allison
