Abyssinia Union at the University of Wisconsin-Superior aims to celebrate and promote Ethiopian culture, history, and traditions among the university community. Our mission is to create a welcoming space for all students to learn and share their experiences, to foster cultural awareness, and to build strong relationships between Ethiopian students and other members of the university community. We strive to engage in meaningful discussions, organize cultural events, and collaborate with other student organizations to promote diversity and inclusion on campus.

This organization is a part of the national organization, the American Choral Directors Association. We work to promote choral music and foster an interest throughout the Twin Ports, Northwest Wisconsin, and Northeast Minnesota. We collaborate with local choral directors of all grades as well as various professional choral groups in the area. Members are NOT required to be pursuing a career in Music Education or in Choral Conducting, but love and interest for the choral arts is a must!

Amnesty International is a non-governmental organization focused on human rights. As a student group on campus, we strive to bring awareness to the campus community through tabling, petitions, fundraising, community events, and conferences.

Interested in learning about and protecting human rights? Want to meet others with similar interests? How about learning skills like event planning, organizational outreach, or leadership? Want to work for an NGO after college and need to start networking? If any of these apply to you, join UW-Superior Amnesty International!

"Our vision is of a world in which every person - regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender identity - enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and other internationally recognized human rights standards."

Amnesty International members are encouraged to participate in the Midwest Amnesty International Meeting (location varies from year to year), which is a 4-day meeting designed to teach our members about human rights issues and advocacy. In addition, our students sponsor events such as the Human Rights Day, World Toilet Day, World Water Day, and the Refugee Dinner.

Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to make Him known to every soul at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. To this end, we strive to build a community centered around authentic friendship, prayer, the sacraments, and growing deeper in our understanding and knowledge of the Faith. Daily Mass is offered on campus at noon on Wednesdays in room 201 in the Yellowjacket Union. In addition, we offer weekly men’s and women’s Bible studies, host guest speakers and swing dances, and give students the opportunity to travel to the Fellowship of Catholic University Students’ annual Seek conference. If you’re interested in getting involved, don’t hesitate to reach out! We’d love for you to join us.

The Criminal Justice Student Association offers learning opportunities for those interested in the criminal justice field through guest speakers, community service, campus events and regional/national conferences! We are a student-run organization with the help of a CJUS advisor. Joining the CJSA is an outstanding way to meet other students with similar interests, develop leadership and organizational skills, network with local and federal employers in the field, and gain more perspectives on career and internship opportunities traditionally associated with the wide field of criminal justice. We hope to inform the students of UWS on current events/issues in the criminal justice system, how these issues affect our daily lives, and discuss how we can become better citizens in situations like child abductions, rescue missions, active attacker situations, and other real-life encounters. Volunteerism: The purpose of the FTA is to provide educational opportunities for all students interested in education by offering a variety of volunteer opportunities in collaboration with local elementary, middle, and high schools.

Native Nations Student Organization (NNSO) strives to promote cultural diversity and awareness regarding First Nations and Indigenous cultures through outreach to the students, staff, and faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, and its surrounding communities.

The University shares in our goal to promote cultural diversity, and as such we are proud to complement their mission to show “respect for diverse cultures and multiple voices” through our educational opportunities. The mission of the SBE Event Planning Committee is to focus on getting students involved as well as teaching them valuable skills by organizing and planning events related to the School of Business and Economics. Students who are not SBE majors are also welcome to join us.

We annually host the SBE Faculty Sponsored Bowling League early in the spring and the SBE Awards Banquet near the end of the spring semester. This year we plan to organize a black light/glow-in-the-dark DJ Night and a Futsal/Volleyball League.

The purpose/mission of the organization is to confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS). Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society. This chapter of Sigma Tau Delta will provide cultural stimulation at UWS and promote interest in literature and the English language in the Twin Ports community. It will foster all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing. It will also promote exemplary character and good fellowship among its members. Members will exhibit high standards of academic excellence. Additionally, the organization will serve society by fostering literacy.
